Radar does not suggest pages: why
The Radar is connected, but the suggestion list is empty or contains only two pages. This is almost always not a malfunction, but a consequence of the data it has. Let's analyze the reasons by frequency.
Reason 1: little data in Search Console
The Radar works based on your query statistics. For a page to be a candidate, there must be demand for it: by default, queries with approximately eight impressions over the period are considered. A new site or a site with low traffic may not have such queries at all.
Reason 2: no pages at the top threshold
The Radar does not look at everything, but at pages at the top threshold — those that are close to a noticeable increase in clicks. If your positions are mostly outside the top hundred, there will be no candidates: work on content is needed there, not just a link boost.
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| List is empty | No queries above the impression threshold | Gather statistics, work on content |
| Only brand queries | You are found by name, not by topic | Expand thematic pages |
| Few candidates | Narrow core | See semantic core |
| Error about Search Console | Access issue, not data | Radar does not see the site |
Reason 3: period too short
Search Console provides data with a delay of a couple of days, and a meaningful picture takes weeks to gather. If the site was connected yesterday, the Radar literally has nothing to choose from — come back in two to three weeks.
What to do while the Radar is silent
- Check the indexing of pages: pages not indexed do not provide impressions at all.
- Look at missed traffic — it has a different selection logic.
- Select a page manually: which page to choose.
- If traffic recently dropped, first find the reason: traffic from Google dropped.
When an empty list is good news
If almost everything for your queries is already in the top 3, the Radar has nothing to suggest: there are simply no pages at the top threshold. This is a rare but pleasant reason. It can be checked quickly — look at the position distribution in Search Console: if the majority is in the first three, work on expanding the core, not on the positions of existing pages.
What not to do
Lower the impression threshold "to get options." Queries with one or two impressions are noise, and promoting them spends the budget without a chance for return. The threshold exists precisely to prevent random strings from getting into the list.
